“I wanted to look like a pink gaudy diva, who’d spent most her life baking in the sun watching TV in a kiddie pool. The idea is to create a self portrait that allowed me to step outside of myself and into a familiar archetype, it's over the top, camp even, but still very familiar. maybe you've met this person or seen them on tv.
